Our LLC officially formed in mid-June of 2001, and includes members from Job Development Authorities (JDA's)
Economic Development Corporations (EDC's), City Councils, and representatives from the McIntosh County Commissioners. We have hired EAPC, Architects-Engineers as our consultant and work with Jay Haley.
We received a Division of Community Service (DCS) grant to help purchase our wind monitoring equipment. The monitoring equipment was put on a tower owned by Jamestown Communication in southwest McIntosh County, on June 20, 2001. We have been collecting data since then, and receive monthly reports from EAPC on our wind regime. We have a very large area of relatively consistent land at 650 meters, which has been tentatively identified as possessing good attributes for wind development.
Our next mission, as we see it, is to get ourselves and the county landowners educated about their rights and options regarding signing leases. We hope to act as the collective bargaining agent for our landowners as we begin visiting with developers. Given the independent nature of farmers, I see this as a huge task.  TL
